Spinal Rehabilitation Exercises
We teach our patients specific exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. Core stabilization is the key; these exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 20-40%. These exercises include knee-to-chest raise, pelvic tilt, press-ups, standing spinal extensions, and others.
Once maximum stabilization of your spine has been achieved, our goal is to prevent relapse of pain. In cases of narrowed spinal discs or degenerative disc disease, the normal spinal alignment is impaired and this can produce a recurrence of pain. Regular, periodic wellness care prevents this. Additionally, activities of daily work and living can strain muscles and cause minor spinal misalignments which are corrected by wellness care.
We often find it helpful to advise our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating the particular condition. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a pain-free lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most.
We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patients’ return to optimal health.
